EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing)
Healing Beyond Just Talking About It
If you are currently experiencing...
✧ Living in the Past's Shadow: Painful memories popping into your mind uninvited
✧ Harsh Core Beliefs: Carrying deep seated self criticism like "I am unsafe," "It was my fault," "I am not enough," or "I am broken"
✧Physical Alarm & Triggers: Fight-or-flight reactions such as racing heart, tight chest, or clenching
✧ Feeling Exhausted by Talk Therapy: Understanding why you feel this way intellectually, but still feeling trapped in the exact same emotional patterns
Then imagine moving toward...
✧ Neutral Memory Processing: Recalling past experiences without feeling an overwhelming surge of physical or emotional distress
✧ Grounded Core Beliefs: Fully believing updated truths like "I am safe now," "I did the best I could," and "I am whole"
✧ Nervous System Ease: Feeling calm, centered, and physically safe in your body, even when life gets unpredictable
✧ Deep Somatic Resolution: Experiencing real relief where your body and emotions finally match what your brain intellectually knows
As an EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist, therapy with me could look like:
✧ Tailored Bilateral Stimulation (BLS): We find the exact sensory format(s) that feels most comfortable for your nervous system. Options include visual eye movements, handheld tactile buzzers, alternating audio tones or music, creative drawing/art, or rhythmic movement.
* Walk-and-Talk sessions are offered to established clients in surrounding areas of Sacramento, Folsom, Roseville, El Dorado Hills. Sessions in Orange County (Garden Grove, Westminster, Irvine, Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, and other surround areas) can be scheduled well in advance.*
✧ Phase Based Stabilization: We never rush into reprocessing memories. We spend time upfront building grounding resources, somatic safe spaces, and emotional regulation tools so you feel fully supported even before getting into those memories.
✧ Inclusive & Adaptive Protocols: Most people know EMDR using the standard protocol. EMDR isn't a one-size-fits-all. There are many ways on how to do EMDR (especially in a creative way), which I can walk you through how we could tailor EMDR to your specific needs and goals.
